Shrikhand (An Indian exotic yoghurt dessert)
Ingredients
- 1.1 lb Yoghurt dahi, hung for 2 hours in a muslin cloth
- 3 3/4 oz Sugar ground
- a few strands Saffron kesar, soaked in 1 tsp water, ground
- 4 Green cardamom choti elaichi seeds, powdered
- 6 Almonds badaani, blanched, chopped
- 8 Pistachios pista, chopped
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the yoghurt with sugar. Add ground saffron, half of the green cardamom powder, almonds, and pistachios. Mix well.
- Pour in individual bowls and serve chilled garnished with the remaining green cardamom powder, dry fruits, and rose petals if desired.
