Pharaoh's Wheel Noodles
This Italian dish symbolizes the passage of the Jews across the Red Sea. The name recalls how the Pharaoh was crushed beneath his chariot wheel. There are several versions of this, but all include pasta, sauce, salami, and raisins. (Italian Jews make a wonderful goose salami.)
Make your own meat or tomato sauce, or follow the stuffing mixture in Georgian Chicken but omit the sweet spices and almonds, and instead add 4 peeled tomatoes or enough tomato sauce to make more liquid.
This dish tastes very special, thanks to the raisins and pine nuts, yet all the ingredients are precooked or need no additional cooking, so it is also simple and quick to prepare

- 2 cups Italian meat sauce
- 8 ounces kosher salami thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup raisins
