Believe it or not, this is a breakfast dish! I saw it on the breakfast menu of a Hungarian restaurant in Jerusalem and was shocked. For those with conservative breakfast tastes, however, it makes a great, quick dessert.

  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup ground walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine melted


  • Boil the noodles in the salted water for 10 minutes. Drain noodles well.
  • Combine the walnuts and cinnamon in a bowl with the sugar.
  • Serve a portion of noodles to each guest and let them help themselves to the nut mixture.
