Ingredients
 

  • 14 oz Rice washed
  • 2 tsp Ghee
  • 4 Cloves laung
  • 1 Black cardamom badi elaichi
  • 32 floz Water
  • a pinch Saffron kesar or yellow colour
  • 5 oz Sugar

Instructions

  • Heat the ghee in a wok (kadhai); add cloves and black cardamom. Fry for 1 - 2 minutes.
  • Add the rice and mix. Pour in the water and edible colour or saffron. Cook until the rice is half done.
  • Mix in the sugar and cook on low heat until all the water evaporates and the rice is tender. Serve hot.
