Aam Ka Panna (Indian Raw mango drink flavoured with saffron)
Ingredients
- 4 Mangoes raw, tops sliced off
- 16 floz Water
- 5 oz Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Green cardamom choti elaichi seeds, powdered
- a few strands Saffron kesar
Instructions
- Boil the mangoes until tender and pulpy.
- Peel the skins and scrape off the pulp from the seeds. Discard the seeds.
- Mix the pulp with the water and strain the mixture.
- Add the sugar, green cardamom powder, and saffron. Mix well.
- Serve chilled in individual glasses.
- Variation: If you do not want a sweet preparation then substitute saffron, green cardamom powder and sugar with roasted, ground cumin seeds and salt.
