Goulash Soup with Potatoes (Gulaschsuppe)
Ingredients
- 4 oz streaky bacon
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 8 oz braising steak diced
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp marjoram
- 1 clove garlic crushed
- 1/3 cup cornflour
- 2 pt beef stock
- 2 large potatoes cooked and diced
Instructions
- Chop bacon and gently fry with the chopped onion.
- When a nice golden colour, add the diced steak and allow to brown all over, stirring constantly.
- Gradually stir in the paprika, marjoram and crushed garlic.
- Take off the heat and add the flour.
- Stir thoroughly and then slowly stir in the stock.
- Return to heat and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Cook on simmer for 30 minutes.
- Now add the diced potato and heat through.
