Masala Paratha (Spicy unleavened shallow fried bread)
Ingredients
- 7 oz Wholewheat flour atta
- 3/4 tsp Cumin jeera seeds, roasted, coarsely powdered
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp Mango powder amchur
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala
- 3 1/2 oz Yoghurt dahi, fresh, thick
- 3 1/2 floz Milk
- 5 tsp Vegetable oil for the dough
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Mix all the dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl.
- Pour yoghurt, milk, and oil; knead to a smooth dough. Keep the dough covered for 3 - 4 hours.
- Divide the dough equally into 4 - 5 portions. Roll each portion out into a thick disc.
- Heat a griddle (tawa); lay the disc flat on it and fry on both sides till light brown. Remove and repeat till all are fried.
