
Cheese slaw
This easy, healthy recipe is a great way to add a little more flavor to your holiday meals.
Ingredients
- 9 oz white cabbage finely shredded
- 1 celery stick chopped
- 2 carrots grated
- 1 oz raisins
- 1 dessert apple
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 6 oz Gouda cheese coarsely grated
- 1/4 pint natural low-fat yogurt
- salt and pepper
- chopped parsley to garnish
Instructions
- Place the cabbage, celery, carrot and raisins in a large bowl. Grate the apple and toss in the lemon juice. Add to the bowl with the cheese and mix well.
- Season the yogurt with salt and pepper to taste, then stir into the salad. Pile on to a serving dish and garnish with chopped parsley.
- The easiest way to prepare the white cabbage is to cut it into thin slices with a serrated bread knife, then chop the shreds to a suitable size.
