Cheese and Tomato Fries
The easiest and tastiest fries recipe ever – simply cheese and tomato – perfect for kids, adults, and even toddlers!
Ingredients
- 12 slices white bread
- butter or soft margarine
- dijon mustard
- 12 oz edam cheese thinly sliced
- 8 oz tomatoes skinned and thinly sliced
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
- oil and butter for shallow frying
- gherkins to garnish
Instructions
- Spread the slices of bread with butter or margarine and mustard.
- Sandwich the slices of bread together with the cheese and tomato slices, placing the tomatoes in the centre with plenty of seasoning. Press well together, cut off the crusts and divide the sandwiches into triangles.
- Heat a little oil and butter and fry the triangles quickly until golden brown on both sides and the cheese starts to ooze.
- Serve as soon as possible garnished with gherkins.
