Tomato and Apple Chutney
This is a chunky chutney, made with tomatoes and apples. Use it on sandwiches or as a topping for cheese on toast.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb tomatoes peeled, deseeded and chopped
- 1 apple peeled, cored and roughly chopped
- 2 oz onion chopped
- 1 garlic clove crushed
- 4 oz soft light brown sugar finely chopped
- 1 tsp fresh root ginger
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 4 oz sultanas
- 3 tbsp white wine vinegar
Instructions
- Mix all the ingredients together in a pan. Bring to the boil and simmer for 30 minutes or until reduced and thick. Cool and serve
