Ingredients
 

  • 1 lb potatoes peeled
  • Fat or oil for deep frying
  • salt

Instructions

  • Cut the potatoes into thin, even sized straws 6mm (1/4 in) wide by 5cm (2in) long.
  • Wash in cold water and dry thoroughly with a clean tea towel.
  • Place a small quantity at a time in a chip basket and deep fry until crisp and golden in colour.
  • Remove from fat or oil and drain.
  • Sprinkle with salt and serve.
