Ingredients
 

  • 2 lb cauliflower
  • 2 medium potatoes
  • 2 tbsp oil for frying
  • 2 tsp ginger fresh or powdered
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala

Instructions

  • Break the cauliflower into small florets, keeping a reasonable amount of stalk.
  • Wash and drain.
  • Peel the potatoes and cut into even-sized pieces.
  • Heat the oil in a deep drying pan and fry the onions and ginger.
  • Add the turmeric and stir well.
  • Add the cauliflower and potato pieces and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the salt, chilli powder and garam masala, cover and cook for a further 10 minutes.
  • Before serving drain off any surplus liquid.
