  • 9 oz Potatoes boiled, mashed roughly
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • a pinch Asafoetida hing
  • 1 Ginger adrak, 1 inch piece, julienned
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric haldi powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander dhaniya powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin jeera powder
  • 8 floz Tomato puree fresh
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 Green chillies
  • 3 Dry red chillies sookhi lal mirch


  • Heat the oil in the pan; add asafoetida, ginger, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and cumin powder. Saute for a while.
  • Add the potatoes and saute for 1 minute. Add tomato puree, salt, and green chillies. Cook for 2 minutes.
  • Garnish with dry red chillies and serve with bharvin puri or khasta kachori
