Khichu (A simple Gujarati dish made of rice flour)
Ingredients
- 3 3/4 oz Rice flour
- 1 1/2 cups Water
- 1/2 tsp Cumin jeera seeds
- 1/4 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp Asafoetida hing
- 1/2 tsp Green chillies chopped
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 tsp Soda bicarbonate
- 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp Green coriander Aara dhaniya, chopped
Instructions
- Boil the water in a pan. Add cumin seeds, red chilli powder, asafoetida, green chillies, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the rice flour and soda bicarbonate, stir vigorously with a wooden spoon to avoid lumps. Cover and simmer for 10 - 12 minutes.
- Add the oil and green coriander. Mix well.
- Serve hot with ghee, crushed pappad, pickle and yoghurt.
