Stir-Fried Spiced Onions (Piaz Bhaji)
Ingredients
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 4 tbsp oil or ghee
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp grated root ginger
- 2.2 lb thickly sliced onion
- 1 tsp garam masala
- salt
Instructions
- Lightly fry 1 tsp cumin seeds in 4 tbsp oil or ghee and add 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp grated root ginger and 2.2 lb thickly sliced onion.
- Fry for 5 minutes, then sprinkle with 1 tsp garam masala, season with salt, cover with a lid and cook for a further 10 minutes;
- serve in a vegetable dish.
