  • 8 Raw bananas ends chopped

for the filling:

  • 4 oz Gram flour hesari
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric haldi powder
  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin jeera powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander dhaniya powder
  • 4 Green chillies chopped
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • 7 floz Vegetable oil


  • Leaving the skin intact, slice the banana lengthwise, into 4 sections, just stopping short of the base.
  • For the filling, mix all the ingredients together.
  • Stuff the filling into the banana slices. Keep aside 2 tsp of the filling.
  • Heat the oil in a pan; place the stuffed bananas side by side. Cook on low heat, covered with a lid containing some water, to prevent the bananas from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  • After 10 minutes, add the remaining stuffing. Cover the pan with the lid again.
  • Stir once after 5 minutes and then remove the pan from the heat. Serve piping hot.
