Dal Ki Khichdi (Mixed dais cooked with rice)
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 oz Split green gram dhuli moong dal
- 2 3/4 oz Split red gram arhar dal
- 2 3/4 oz Lentil masoor dal
- 1 tsp Ghee
- 32 floz Water
- 3 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric haldi powder
- 1 tbsp Ginger-garlic adrak-lasan paste
- 4 cups Rice cleaned
Instructions
- Heat the ghee in a wok (kadhai); add the first three ingredients and gently fry for 5 - 10 minutes.
- Add 1 1/2 cups water and cook till all the water is absorbed and the dals are soft. Add salt, turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste, and rice. Mix well.
- Add the remaining water and cook on low heat until all the water is absorbed and the rice is done.
- Serve hot.
