Ingredients
 

  • 5 oz flour
  • 5 oz wholemeal flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 oz brown sugar
  • 3 oz glace cherries chopped
  • 2 oz walnuts chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 8 floz fresh milk
  • 2 oz butter melted

Instructions

  • Place the flours, baking powder, salt, sugar, cherries and walnuts in a bowl and mix well.
  • Lightly whisk together the egg, milk and butter. Stir into the dry ingredients and mix until evenly blended.
  • Spoon into 12 greased muffin tins and bake at 200°C (400°F) mark 6 for 25 minutes.
  • Cool in the tin for 5 minutes before turning out.
