
Sweet Sour Chinese Turkey
Ingredients
- 1 lb turkey breast
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 5 tablespoons orange juice
- 4-5 celery sticks
- 2 sharon fruit or firm tomatoes
- 10 radishes
- 1/2 Chinese cabbage
- 1 large green pepper seeded
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1/4 pint chicken stock
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cornflour
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon clear honey
Instructions
- Cut the turkey breast into thin strips. Marinate in the lemon and orange juice for 30 minutes.
- Cut the celery, sharon fruit or tomatoes, radishes and Chinese cabbage into small neat pieces.
- Heat the oil in a large non-stick frying pan. Drain the turkey and reserve the marinade.
- Fry the turkey in the oil until nearly tender.
- Add the vegetables and sharon fruit or tomatoes and heat for 2-3 minutes only.
- Blend the chicken stock with the marinade and the cornflour. Add the soy sauce and sugar. Pour over the ingredients in the pan and stir until thickened.
- Sharon fruit is a variety of persimmon which can be eaten like an apple. The skin is edible or the fruit can be peeled. It is often candied.
