Stewed Shark Steaks Creole Style (Caribbean)
Ingredients
- 10 shark steaks each weighing about 5 1/3 oz
- 2 floz oil
- 3 1/2 oz chopped onion
- 9 oz diced tomato flesh
- seasoning
for the marinade
- 2 juice of lemons
- 2 floz rum
- 4 tbsp water
- 6 crushed cloves of garlic
- 2 oz chopped chives
- 4 chopped red chillies
Instructions
- Place the shark steaks in a shallow dish, season with salt and pepper, cover with the marinade and leave for 2 hours.
- Remove the fish from the marinade, dry in a cloth and golden shallow fry in oil, remove and retain.
- In the same pan, saute the chopped onion and tomato flesh, add the marinade and cook for a few moments. Replace the fish and simmer gently for 15 minutes.
- Serve accompanied by rice cooked in the Caribbean style.
