Ingredients
 

  • 4 1/2 lb potatoes
  • 1 tsp mustard seed
  • 2 tbsp oil or ghee
  • 2 sliced fresh green chillies
  • 3 1/2 oz chopped onion
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp chilli powder
  • 2 1/3 floz lemon juice

Instructions

  • Boil 4 1/2 lb potatoes in their skins in salted water, then peel and mash them.
  • Fry 1 tsp mustard seed in 2 tbsp oil or ghee, add 2 sliced, fresh green chillies, 3 1/2 oz chopped onion, 1 tsp turmeric, 2 tsp garam masala, 2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp chilli powder and 2 1/3 floz lemon juice.
  • Mix into the mashed potato and serve sprinkled with chopped coriander leaves.
