Sauerkraut
Ingredients
- 3 1/2 oz goose fat or lard
- 3 1/3 lb sauerkraut
- 1.4 lb quartered apples
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- coarsely ground black pepper
Instructions
- Melt 3 1/2 oz goose fat or lard in a pan, add 1.4 lb sauerkraut and stir over heat for 2 - 3 minutes.
- Cover with boiling water, add 1.4 lb quartered apples and season with 1 tsp caraway seeds and coarsely ground black pepper. Cover with a lid and cook at 180°C for 1 hour.
