Ingredients
 

  • 3 1/2 oz goose fat or lard
  • 3 1/3 lb sauerkraut
  • 1.4 lb quartered apples
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • coarsely ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Melt 3 1/2 oz goose fat or lard in a pan, add 1.4 lb sauerkraut and stir over heat for 2 - 3 minutes.
  • Cover with boiling water, add 1.4 lb quartered apples and season with 1 tsp caraway seeds and coarsely ground black pepper. Cover with a lid and cook at 180°C for 1 hour.
