Potatoes with Garlic and Sesame
Ingredients
- 2 lb small new potatoes
- 5 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 2 large cloves of garlic peeled and chopped
- 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp salt
- Pinch of cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Wash the potatoes thoroughly but do not scrape.
- Cut them in half, rinse in cold water then dry.
- Heat the oil in a heavy frying pan over a medium heat and, when hot, put in the potatoes and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until lightly browned.
- Remove potatoes and keep warm.
- Put the sesame seeds into the pan and stir, add the garlic and when it is starting to turn brown, add the turmeric, potatoes, salt and cayenne pepper.
- Stir well, cover and cook gently until the potatoes are tender.
