Beef Keftethes are one of the most loved dishes by Greeks. They are typically made with minced beef, onion, garlic, eggs, oregano and olive oil.

Ingredients
 

  • 3 1/3 lb finely minced beef
  • 3 1/2 oz finely chopped onion
  • 6 oz breadcrumbs
  • 1 oz chopped parsley
  • 2 tsp chopped mint
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 2 chopped cloves of garlic
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 3 tbsp hot water

Instructions

  • Combine 1.5 kg finely minced beef, 100 g finely chopped onion, 175 g breadcrumbs, 25 g chopped parsley, 2 tsp chopped mint, 1/2 tsp oregano, 2 chopped cloves of garlic, 2 beaten eggs, 50 ml olive oil, 25 ml vinegar, 50 ml hot water
  • and seasoning.
  • Mould into 20 balls and golden shallow fry in olive oil, drain and serve.
