Bakar Khani (Green cardamom-flavoured leavened bread)
Ingredients
- 11 oz Refined flour maida
- 3 1/2 oz Semolina suji
- 2 floz Milk
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- 3 tsp Green cardamom choti elaichi powder
- 2 tsp Ginger powder sonth
- 7 tsp Sugar
- 2 tsp Salt
- Water as required
- 3 1/2 oz Butter
Instructions
- Mix the refined flour, semolina, milk, ghee, green cardamom powder, dry ginger powder, sugar, and salt thoroughly.
- Gradually, add water and knead into a smooth dough. Divide the dough equally into 8 portions and shape each into balls. Roll out each ball into a 6" diameter.
- Cook in a tandoor or a griddle (tawa) until brown on all sides.
- Remove from the tandoor or griddle, smear butter and serve hot.
