Ingredients
 

  • 5 1/2 oz plain flour
  • 4 oz cornmeal
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 eggs lightly beaten
  • 6 floz milk
  • 2 oz butter melted
  • 10 oz blackberries fresh or frozen

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) Gas Mark 6.
  • Lightly grease a 20 X 20-cm/8 x 8-in baking tin.
  • Sift dry ingredients together.
  • In a separate bowl, combine eggs, milk and melted butter.
  • Pour liquid ingredient into flour mixture and stir well.
  • Add blackberries and mix.
  • Pour batter into baking tin. at 200°C (400°F) Gas Mark 6 until top is lightly browned, about 30 minutes.
  • Cut into squares and serve warm.
