Spring is an uncertain season, and if Passover is early, a comforting drink for cold mornings is welcome. In my family, this was the only time of year we took milk in our coffee. And crumbling the matzos into the coffee somehow makes all the difference.

Ingredients
 

  • 4 teaspoons instant coffee
  • 4 cups milk
  • pinch of ground cinnamon
  • about 4 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 matzos

Instructions

  • Put a teaspoon of coffee into each of 4 mugs. Heat the milk, cinnamon, and sugar over medium heat until it comes to a boil.
  • While the milk is heating, break the matzos into small pieces.
  • Pour the hot milk into the mugs, stir, and add as many pieces of matzo as will fit into the mugs without the milk overflowing.
  • Drink hot with a spoon.
