  • 1.1 lb Refined flour maida
  • 1 3/4 oz Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 4 floz Water
  • Ghee for frying


  • Make a stiff dough with flour, ghee, salt, and water. Keep aside to rest for 2 hours.
  • Separate the dough into small round lemon-sized balls.
  • Roll out the balls into flat discs, about 4" in diameter.
  • Heat the ghee for frying; deep-fry the discs till golden brown in colour.
  • Serve hot as an accompaniment.
