  • 2 lb broccoli trimmed
  • salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 2 oz butter
  • 2 oz flaked almonds
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice


  • Cook the broccoli in boiling salted water for 10 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, melt the butter in another pan. Add the almonds and cook over a gentle heat for about 5 minutes until golden brown. Stir in the lemon juice and seasoning.
  • Drain the broccoli well and turn into a warmed serving dish. Spoon over the almond mixture.
