Beer Batter
Ingredients
- 1 cup plain flour All purpose, sifted
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 8 floz beer or water
- 2 egg whites
Instructions
- Put the flour into a mixing bowl and make a well in the centre.
- Pour in the oil and, using a balloon whisk or wooden spoon, beat it thoroughly into the flour.
- Add the beer gradually, beating from the outside of the bowl towards the centre.
- Set aside until you are ready to cook, then whisk the egg whites fairly stiffly and fold them into the batter.
- Use straight away.
