  • 1 bread roll
  • 1 lb minced meat
  • 1 onion
  • 1 egg
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 tbsp peanut oil
  • 1 lb frozen Chinese vegetables
  • 1/2 pint chicken stock
  • ground ginger ground mustard
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce


  • Soak the bread in water and squeeze well. Rip the bread roll into small bits and mix together with the minced meat. Add the egg, season with salt and pepper and mix well. Wet your hands and form the mixture into small balls.____________
  • Brown the minced meat balls in the hot peanut oil. Cook on a low heat for approximately 8 minutes. Remove the balls and keep warm.
  • Put the frozen Chinese vegetables in the frying pan with the oil from the meat balls, brown gently and then add the chicken stock. Leave on a low flame to simmer for approximately 5 minutes.
  • Season with salt, pepper, ginger powder, mustard powder and soy sauce. Arrange the meat balls together with the vegetables on plates and serve. White rice makes for an ideal accompaniment for this dish.
