Healthy Strawberry Milkshakes
Raspberry, banana, blackberry and pineapple are some of the other flavours that you can make by substituting fresh fruits for the strawberries in this recipe. You will need a blender or food processor.
Ingredients
- 12 oz fresh strawberries
- 1 1/2 tablespoons caster sugar
- 1 pint chilled skimmed or semi-skimmed milk
- 1/2 pint natural low-fat yoghurt
Instructions
- Chill 4 glasses. Reserve 4 strawberries for decoration and put the rest into a food processor or blender and sprinkle with the sugar. If possible, leave to stand for 20 minutes before pureeing the mixture. Pass the puree through a nylon sieve to remove seeds.
- Return mixture to the food processor and add the milk and yoghurt. Blend on a high speed for 1 minute. Pour into the chilled glasses, decorate with the remaining strawberries and serve immediately.
