1. Put the soaked prunes in a small saucepan, cover with water, bring to the boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Drain and allow to cool slightly.
2. Remove the stones from the prunes and reshape.
3. Cut the rind from the bacon, cut each slice in half and smooth out with a spatula.
4. Put a piece of foil on the grill pan and arrange the slices of bacon on the foil.
5. Cook for 2 minutes under a hot grill. Do not allow to crisp.
6. When slightly cooled, wrap the bacon pieces around the prunes and finish cooking under the grill or in the oven if more convenient.
7. Secure with cocktail sticks, and serve hot with pre-dinner drinks.
