1. Prepare the fruit, removing peel, cores and seeds and cutting into pieces.
2. Boil the fruit in water until soft and drain well.
3. Meanwhile boil the sugar, vinegar and cloves for 1/2 hour.
4. Put the fruit in this liquid and boil for 1/4 hour, then pour into jars and cover..
5. Keep for 6 months before using.
