I don't use canned tuna but buy it fresh in the market. About a kilo. They slice it for me. I rub a little (very little) salt on the pieces, and also pepper and ginger-garlic paste. Add a couple of sliced onions and tomatoes. Place in a cooker along with a cup of water. Steam for an hour and a half. The result - the bones are soft too. Remove fish, let it cool, then mash in a mixer (bones and all!) along with any more spices and herbs that you may need. Perhaps a dash of olive oil. Yes, you may calorie it up with mayo and thousand island or whatever, but that's your call ! Serve with toasted bread or nachni chips (if you can find them). Delicious !
