1. Heat the oven to 200°C (400°F) Gas 6.
2. In a bowl mix together the mayonnaise, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, spring onions (reserving a little to garnish), cheese and salt and pepper to taste.
3. Cut the French loaf in half across, then cut each half open horizontally. Cut off the rounded ends so that you have 4 rectangular pieces of bread.
4. Spread the cheese mixture over the cut surfaces of the bread. Lay 2 ham slices on each piece of bread,
then top with tomato slices. Season with salt and pepper.
5. Wrap each open sandwich in a piece of foil and arrange them side by side on a baking sheet.
6. Bake for 30 minutes or until the cheese mixture is melted and bubbling. Serve hot, garnished with the reserved spring onion.
