This thin yogurt drink is wonderfully refreshing in the summer. It was introduced into Russia by the Tartars, and is now drunk all over Asia, Turkey, and the Soviet Union.
2 cups thick plain yogurt
2 cups cold water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup crushed ice
fresh mint sprigs or dried mint
1. Put the yogurt in a blender. Add the water and salt and blend until smooth.
2. Pour into 4 tall glasses and top with crushed ice.
3. Place a sprig of mint on each glass or crumble on a little dried mint.
4. Drink through straws.
