This thin yogurt drink is wonderfully refreshing in the summer. It was introduced into Russia by the Tartars, and is now drunk all over Asia, Turkey, and the Soviet Union.
ingredients
2 cups thick plain yogurt
2 cups cold water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup crushed ice
fresh mint sprigs or dried mint
method
1. Put the yogurt in a blender. Add the water and salt and blend until smooth.
2. Pour into 4 tall glasses and top with crushed ice.
3. Place a sprig of mint on each glass or crumble on a little dried mint.
