method
1. Dry roast the coffee beans in a frying pan for a minute or two or in a microwave oven for a minute. Grind to a fine powder in a blender or buy fresh coffee powder instead.
2. Put the powder in the top portion of a 4 cup-filter can (available in any Indian utensil shop). Add boiling water. Cover and allow the coffee to percolate to the bottom container of the filter can.
3. Bring the milk to the boil. Divide the strained coffee into 4 tumblers. Pour equal portions of hot milk into each. Holding an empty tumbler in the left hand, pour the entire coffee-milk mixture into an empty one, ensuring that you pour from a height to make it frothy. Sugar may be added to the milk, if desired. Serve at once.
