method
1. Peel, core and slice the apples and place in a bowl.
2. Place some cling film over the top.
3. Place the butter in a saucepan over low heat until melted.
4. Add the sugar, cream and a few drops of vanilla essence to taste and stir slowly until the sugar dissolves.
5. Boil for 5 minutes.
6. Add the apple slices and cook gently for 7-10 minutes, turning the apple occasionally.
Keep warm in a saucepan until ready to serve.
