1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (170°C) Gas Mk 3.
2. Remove the meat from the chicken and mince it.
3. Mix with the bacon, sausage meat, onion, herbs, garlic and cider.
4. Turn into a well-greased 2 lb (900 g) loaf tin, put the bay leaves on top and cover with foil.
5. Stand in a roasting tin with at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) boiling water in the base.
6. Bake for 2 1/2 hours. Leave to cool, then chill before serving.
