Creamed Horseradish

This is a very tasty, milder mixture of chrein, used with dairy dishes.

ingredients

makes 1 1/2 cups
1 piece horseradish root, about 2 inches long
1 tart apple
1 teaspoon sugar
about 1/2 cup wine vinegar
2/3 cup sour cream

method

1. Peel the horseradish and apple, then grate them together into a bowl.

2. Stir in the sugar and just enough vinegar to moisten.

3. Add the sour cream and blend well.

4. Store in sterilized jars in refrigerator or until needed.
