method
1. Put a griddle or heavy-based frying pan to heat on the hob.
2. Mix the millet, cornflour (cornstarch) , ground rice, cream of tartar, bicarbonate of soda and sugar into a bowl.
3. Stir in the egg.
4. Pour in the milk and mix/beat to a creamy batter.
5. Put a little oil into a saucer. Use a screw of kitchen paper to lightly grease the hot pan, and turn the heat down to medium.
6. Stir the batter. Drop tablespoons of it into the pan. These will spread out into circles. Cook until bubbles appear then turn over with a spatula and cook on the other side for a minute.
7. Stack on a warm plate. Serve freshly made, covered with a cloth napkin to keep them warm.
