1. Preheat the oven to 205°C (400°F) Gas 6. Arrange the chicken pieces in a large, lightly greased baking dish and bake for 30 minutes.
2. Combine the orange juice, apricot jam, peach jam, honey, cayenne pepper and lemon juice in a mixing bowl. Mix well.
3. After the chicken has baked for 30 minutes, brush the pieces with half the orange juice mixture. Reduce the oven temperature to 175°C (350°F) Gas 4 and bake for 15 minutes.
4. Turn the chicken pieces over and brush them with the remaining orange juice mixture. Arrange the kumquats in the pan with the chicken. Bake for 15 minutes longer.
5. Pour the pan juices over the chicken and kumquats before serving.
