4 cups (1 lb) 450 g plain flour
1 stick (8 tbsp) 4 oz (112 g) butter
4 ounces lard
2 ounce currants
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon baking powder
milk and sour cream
method
1. Rub fat into flour, add other dry ingredients, and mix to a soft dough with a little milk and sour cream.
2. Roll out and bake both sides on a hot girdle. In order to turn the bread / dough without it breaking into pieces, use a wide kitchen tool to handle it.
