1. Cook the spaghetti in a large saucepan of boiling salted water with the oil added, for 12 minutes. Drain well.
2. Meanwhile prepare the other ingredients, slice the onion, and dice the bacon. Wash and slice the mushrooms.
3. Melt half the butter in a large pan and cook the onion and bacon for 5 minutes over a low heat.
4. Add the mushrooms and cook for a further 3 minutes.
5. Toss the drained spaghetti in the other half of the melted butter over a medium heat for a few seconds. Season with pepper, add cheese.
6. Toss the spaghetti into the pan with the onion, bacon and mushrooms and mix well.
7. Add the seasoned beaten egg and stir vigorously into the mixture.
8. Cook over the heat for a few minutes until thick and creamy.
9. Serve on warmed plates or serving dish, sprinkled with chopped parsley.
