1. Peel and mash the bananas, add half the sugar, nutmeg and lime juice and mix well.
2. Put the mixture in a buttered dish and top with the breadcrumbs.
3. Beat the eggs and add the remaining sugar, beating well.
4. Warm the milk and pour into the egg mixture, stirring all the time.
5. Pour over the banana and crumbs and sprinkle nutmeg on top.
6. Bake in the oven at 180°C (350°F) Gas 4 until the custard is set and the top golden brown, approximately 35 minutes.
