Hoisin Dip

This speedy dip needs no cooking and can be made in just a few minutes it tastes great with Mini Spring Rolls or prawn
crackers.

ingredients

serves 4
4 spring onions
4 cm (1 1/2 in) fresh root ginger
2 fresh red chillies
2 garlic cloves
60 ml (4 tbsp) hoisin sauce
120 ml (4 fl oz) 1/2 cup passata
5 ml (1 tsp) sesame oil (optional)

method

1. Trim off and discard the green ends of the spring onions. Slice the white parts very thinly.

2. Peel and finely chop the ginger.

3. Halve and seed the chillies. Slice finely. Finely chop the garlic.

4. Stir together the hoisin sauce, passata, spring onions, ginger, chillies, garlic and sesame oil, if using Serve within 1 hour.
