method
1. Melt 25 g (1 oz) of the butter or margarine in a small pan.
2. Add the veal and thyme and cook over a low heat for 15 minutes, or until the veal is thoroughly browned.
3. Drain off any fat that has accumulated in the pan. Set the veal aside.
4. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F) Gas 5.
5. When the veal is cool enough to handle, form it into 32 small patties each with a diameter of about 2.5cm (1 in).
6. Arrange the patties on a greased baking sheet.
7. Insert an almond into each date. Top each veal patty with a stuffed elate.
8. Melt the remaining butter or margarine, pour over the patties and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
9. Serve hot.
