method
1. Sift flours into a mixing bowl, adding any grist to bowl which doesn't pass through sifter.
2. Add brown sugar and blend in with fingers to break up sugar lumps.
3. Blend peanut butter with butter, cut into flour with a knife, then rub in lightly with fingertips.
4. Beat egg lightly and combine with milk.
5. Pour into flour mixture and mix until thoroughly combined without over-mixing.
6. Turn into a greased and floured 20 x 10 cm (8 x 4 inch) loaf tin and bake in a moderately hot oven 190-200°C (375-400°F) for 45 minutes.
7. Spread topping on loaf and cook for further 15 minutes.
8. Invert onto a wire rack covered with foil, turn right side up on rack to cool.
9. Replace any topping from foil onto loaf if necessary.
10. Serve sliced, spread with cream cheese or butter and honey.

Blend ingredients in a saucepan and heat just long enough to combine.
