Crab and asparagus fettucine

ingredients

serves 2.
200 g can of white crab meat, drained
1/2 teaspoon chilli flakes
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
175 g (6 oz) fettucine
150 g (5 1/2 oz) asparagus tips
salt and freshly ground black pepper

method

1. Place the drained crab meat, chilli flakes and lemon juice in a bowl and mix them together thoroughly.

2. Bring a large saucepan of lightly salted water to the boil and cook the pasta for about 10 minutes, or until tender Add the asparagus to the pan for the last 1 minutes of the cooking time.

3. Drain the fettucine and asparagus well, reserving 3 tablespoons of the cooking water Return it to a clean pan with the reserved water and the crab mixture. Heat through gently and season to taste. Serve at once.
